Spend time watching the sky or experimenting with long-exposure photographs at an agreed viewing spot. A tripod is useful if you are bringing a camera; a warm layer helps you stay comfortable while you wait. Visibility depends on cloud, moonlight and the time of year. Stars and the Milky Way cannot be guaranteed, and plans may need to change with the weather.
