About these terms
These terms apply to your use of this website and to stays at The Riv Eco Villa, Riverston, Matale, Sri Lanka. By booking with us or using this site, you accept them.
Using this website
We keep the information on this site — descriptions, photographs, availability and rates — as accurate and current as we can, but it may change without notice. Photographs are indicative of the property and its surroundings.
Enquiries and bookings
Submitting the availability or enquiry form does not create a confirmed booking. It begins a conversation. Bookings are completed through our reservations partner, letsbook.me, or directly with us, and are only confirmed once you receive a written confirmation from us.
The rates, inclusions, deposit, payment schedule, cancellation terms and any minimum-stay requirement that apply to your stay are those set out in your booking confirmation. Where our reservations partner’s terms also apply to a booking made through them, those terms govern that transaction.
Changes and cancellations
If you need to change or cancel a confirmed booking, contact us as early as possible and we will do what we reasonably can to help. Any refund or charge follows the cancellation terms stated in your booking confirmation.
In rare circumstances we may need to cancel or alter a booking — for example because of damage to the property, severe weather, or events beyond our control. If that happens we will tell you promptly and offer alternative dates or a refund of amounts paid to us for the affected stay.
Arrival and departure
Check-in and check-out times are those stated in your booking confirmation. If you expect to arrive late or outside the usual window, please let us know in advance so we can arrange to receive you.
Staying with us
The villa is a shared natural environment and a home. We ask that you:
- keep to the number of guests confirmed in your booking, unless agreed with us beforehand;
- treat the property, its furnishings and its surroundings with care;
- respect the quiet of the setting and of neighbouring properties;
- supervise children, particularly around the pool and the outdoor areas;
- follow our guidance on waste, water and energy, which is part of how the villa operates.
You are responsible for any loss or damage caused during your stay beyond fair wear and tear.
Activities and the surrounding area
Trails, waterfalls, viewpoints and other experiences around Riverston take place in a natural mountain environment and carry inherent risk. Where we arrange or suggest an activity run by a third party, that provider is responsible for it. Please take sensible precautions and follow local advice.
Our responsibility
We take reasonable care to provide the accommodation and services described. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for matters outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Please look after your belongings. We cannot accept responsibility for personal property left at the villa.
Content on this site
The text, photographs, branding and design on this site belong to The Riv Eco Villa or are used with permission. Please do not reproduce them commercially without asking us first.
Links to other sites
Where we link to other websites, including our reservations partner, we do so for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or their terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here at the time of your booking is the one that applies to it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
