Getting to The RIV
Riverston, Knuckles Mountain Range,
From Colombo
The journey from Colombo usually takes around 4.5–5.5 hours, depending on traffic, weather and road conditions. The route generally continues through Matale and Rattota before entering the Riverston mountain roads.
Via Matale
From Matale, travel through Rattota towards Riverston and Pitawala. The final section is a scenic mountain drive with narrow roads, bends and changing weather conditions.
Mountain Road Conditions
Roads in the Riverston area can be steep, narrow and winding, with reduced visibility during rain or mist. We recommend travelling during daylight whenever possible.
Transport Options
Private vehicles are the most convenient way to reach the villa. Airport transfers, private transport and local tuk-tuk arrangements can also be organised on request.
